It was a beautiful day in Orewa, and the turnout was fantastic for the Hibiscus and Bays Arts Awards at the Estuary Art Centre in Orewa yesterday.  The crowd, and the mayor Len Brown could not be disappointed by the number and variety of pieces on show –  from paintings to sculpture to jewellery. Congratulations to Andy Dunn who took away the top award, and a prize of $3000 with his satirical piece ‘cornering the art market’ – very inventive!

The exhibition which is on 2 floors runs until 30th November, and there are some very talented local artists exhibiting.  You can also see my work ‘At Peace’ and if you’d like to vote for me for the people’s choice that would be amazing too!  So if you are in the area pop in and take a look (especially look out for painting #38) and let me know what you think.
