Every now and again I find it a breath of fresh air to challenge myself to something outside of my norm.  Earlier this year I challenged myself to design and post 30 inspirational quotes ’30 Days of goodness’ – if you follow me on Facebook you will have seen them – they were very popular.

So what is going to be my next challenge? Well it is something that you guys can join in too, as from 1st June until 31st July I will be taking part in ‘Index Card a Day 2015’.

What is Index Card a Day, and how can you take part?

ICAD has been happening for 5 years now and is the brain child of Tammy Garcia of Daisy Yellow.  It is a very simple challenge – every day for 61 days you create something or anything on an index card – the type of cards you find in any stationery shop (either lined or plain).  You can start on 1st June or whenever you like, just keep going until you have completed all 61 and there is no pressure if you happen to miss a day.

What do you create? well that is entirely up to you – as Tammy says “Anything goes. Make flash cards to teach yourself Russian. Paint with acrylic paints. Drip Indian ink. Dye with espresso. Practice origami folds. Stitch. Sketch. Doodle. Stamp. Collage. Cut up weave the pieces back together. Write Haiku poems. Document your paint collection.”

If you have no idea what to design on your cards and need some inspiration Tammy has that covered too – she will be posting prompts to give you ideas of what to create each day.  Once you have completed your card all you need to do is to post it into the ICAD 2015 Facebook group and share your experiences with other creatives from around the world.

So if you would like to join me in my challenge please go to Daisy Yellow and register and in the meantime I will keep you updated here and on Facebook with my progress.  Hope to see you there!

And if you are planning on taking part comment below so we can cheer each other on – Have Fun!

  2. Yes I am in. Responded on your blog. Exciting!!!

  3. FB page is a closed group. Registration process wasn’t clear – I may have missed it though. Suggestions?

    1. Hi Mira

I believe it is a closed group – you should still be able to clik on the ‘Join’ button – you won’t get immediate accessas they have to approve you (to stop spammers etc) but you should get approval pretty quick – please let me know if you have any further trouble.
